HYPERthyroid, not hypothyroid right? I have never heard of a hyperthyroid dog, especially a shiba. It is so rare in dogs! If Winnie is really hyperthyroid, what does the vet suspect as the cause? Most hyperthyroid dogs result from carcinoma :( I hope this was just a mispelling. Not good news at all if so.
Yes, I'm afraid we do talk about hypothyroidism a bit much...
And I'm afraid to steal away your silver lining, but you may not want to take thyroid medication with cheese, since levothyroxine binds to calcium. And soy. But I have heard that there are some types of sausages that do the job appropriately. I do not know which ones, though.
We use mini marshmallow puffs. A special, exotic treat for Shibas with a sweet tooth.
Thank you, Shibasenji, for your information that I gathered from your website. Poor Cortez is facing one issue after another but he has the heart of a warrior and continues to enjoy life as fully as he wants.
He is not amused by the lack of cheese rule in the house but is most pleased with the fact that a piece of hot dog is now offered instead.
I've never felt good in levothyroxine for seven months. I talked to my doctor to give me alternatives. I feel great when I started taking bovine thyroid supplements .
