How Can You Tell If It Is Cold?

When the Shibas refuse to leave their crates to say "Good Morning."

Scout is jealous. She does not get a blanket in her kennel as she shreds them. (When they are her's. She's never shredded a blanket left anywhere else.)

I am considering buying a big bed for her this year, but suspect the kitties would claim it.

So cute! Ours sleep on their respective couch spots (each with their own blanket). We've had a reluctance to get up, mostly due to the damp weather -- both Eric and Kimiko hate the rain!

Happy Holidays to you and family!

A couple of weeks ago, I came out to find a thick layer of ice in my dog bowl several mornings running. I think that qualifies as very cold. I also know that it's going to continue to be cold, because my mother put the baby crib bumper along the inside of my dog house. She said it was for "insulation". I think it helps-no cold dog house walls against Shiba fur. She also recycled a mattress cover for the bottom of the dog house. So, if I have to be outside in the dog house, I'm pretty snuggly. But, most of the time, when its really cold, I'm a spoiled rotten Shiba inside the house. This week, she muttered something about having to replace the rather old heating and air conditioning system, so a whole work crew descended on the house and she got a new one -- just for me! As I said, I am a spoiled rotten Shiba.
