How Quickly They Forget
But I have not forgotten.
August 14, 2009September 22, 2010
No dog (nor person) should ever forget what happened. In one year, he went from Hide Your Dogs to "Top Dog." It's an insult to all of us of the canine species.
I Am Shiba. Never Forget.

Great post. Nor will I ever forget.
Love the picture of the dogs destroying a Vick jersey. I like how NPR keeps running specials and stories on the rescued dogs from Vick's fighting ring.. not letting their audience forget now that football season has started again. If only all media would.
Cortez, the people of Philadelphia have not forgotten the atrocities committed by Michael Vick. But doesn't the man deserve a chance at redemption? He served his time (and continues to pay his fine) did he not?
To Michael - I understand redemption, but the thought of doing that in the first place is something that says, "I'm not a good person".....
I'm not political or usually vocal, but what he did can not be forgotten or excused.
My only complaint about Vick is that he was given back his prestigious place as a football player while every one else who suffers a felony suffers in order to find a job.
He brutally used and destroyed dogs for his own enjoyment, financial game, and fame. If it had been a non celebrity, they would be lucky if they were flipping burgers.
Too many felons get turned down for jobs because they have to check that box in the job application. The Eagles ignored that. He served his time but does he deserve the status that people seem to be giving him?
Cortez,
You raise a very valid point that touches more on financial status than any other defining trait of an individual. People with the financial wherewithal are usually treated differently from those who live paycheck to paycheck and that is a travesty. As for the status that Eagles fans laud on Vick it is undeserved (though he is talented) but my adopted home City has a deserved reputation for brutishness.
On a happier note, Yoshi (my Shiba) thoroughly enjoys your posts and wants you to rest assured that the Power of Shiba is alive and well in the City of Brotherly Love.
Wow. That's latter is a headline in such terrible, terrible taste.
I don't think this man's crimes should be forgotten either.
